In Video Poker, you are likely to hear some terms that you may or may not be familiar with. Below are some of the most commonly used terms, and their meanings.

• Cash Out - To collect your winnings.
• Comps - These are 'rewards' that are earned through playing at a casino.
• Credits - The monetary units in a casino game or machine. The money you deposit into a casino shows up as credits in your account.
• Denomination - This can refer to the value of a card, or the coin size of the game.
• Deuces - The Two's in a deck of cards are called Deuces.
• Discard Buttons - These allow you to get rid of unwanted cards.
• Draw - To obtain new cards while playing a hand of cards.
• Edge - An Edge is the advantage that's held by either the casino or the player.
• Flush - Five cards of the same suit.
• Four of a Kind - Four cards of the same face value.
• Full House - Three of a Kind and a Pair in the same hand.
• Full Pay - The best payout on a casino game.
• Hand - The five cards, whether dealt or held is considered to be your hand.
• High Card - Any of the Face Cards, the Ace and in some cases it also includes Tens.
• Hold - The cards you choose to keep.
• House - The casino.
• Inside Straight - The two cards on both ends of a straight, leaving you with one card to complete the straight.
• Inside Straight Flush - The same as above but with cards of the same suit.
• Jackpot - By betting the maximum and getting the highest ranking hand, you are paid a Jackpot.
• Max Bet - Betting the maximum allowed coins.
• Multi Play - Games that have more than one hand at a time.
• Pat Hand - You are dealt a winning hand with no draws.
• Perfect Play - Applying optimal strategy in a given game.
• Random Number Generator - A software program that generates random numbers continuously, in a casino game.
• Rank - The numerical value of a card.
• Royal Flush - Normally the highest ranking hand, it is a sequential high straight of the same suit.
• Sequential Royal Flush - A Royal Flush in order of the value of the cards.
• Straight - Five cards in sequence.
• Straight Flush - Five cards in sequence and of the same suit.
• Strategy - A set plan for playing certain hands, depending on the game.
• Strategy Card - A set plan for playing certain hands, depending on the game and is printed on a card for reference.
• Suit - The groups of cards, according to their color and symbol, Spades, Clubs, Diamonds or Hearts.
• Three of a Kind - Three cards of the same value including 'like' Face Cards.
• Trips - Another term for Three of a Kind.
• Two Pairs - Two Pairs in the same hand.
• Wild Card - Any card that is designated to substitute for other cards.
• Wild Royal Flush - The use of a Wild Card to complete a Royal Flush.
