Video Poker Tips
When playing any casino game, it helps to gather as many
tips as you can. These tips are designed not only to improve your
game, but to improve your overall online casino gambling experience. We'll cover the
types of games to look for, how to play certain hands, and some
solid advice on managing your bankroll.
Tips for playing:
- Seek out games that are Full Pay. These pay 9 coins on a
Full House and 6 coins on a Flush.
- Familiarize yourself with the paytable for each game you
play. It will differ for each variety of Video Poker and the
payoffs may in fact vary greatly.
- Don't speed play, there's no rush. Take your time and
analyze your hand possibilities. Rushing through a hand may
cause you to throw away a good hand possibility.
- Strive to play a perfect hand every time. This increases
your odds of winning.
- Always bet the maximum. Determine what you can afford and
bet accordingly. Many people have decided to start off at a
lesser bet to extend the time they play, only to hit the Royal
Flush early on in the game. A Royal Flush only comes around
about every 40,000 hands, but you can never tell where you stand
in that cycle.
- If you're new to a game, bet the least coin denomination at
max coin. If a game can be played for as little as $0.25 per
coin, the max coin bet would be $1.25. The denomination goes all the way up to
$5.00 per coin, which means that each hand costs $25.00.
- Play in free mode until you understand the rules of the
game. All of the online casinos offer rules for each game. Practice
before you make your deposit.
- Hold a Jack and draw 4 cards when the Jack is the high card.
- Don't draw to a Flush when holding 3 or 4 cards to a
Straight.
- There is no need to hold a kicker card when you have a pair.
- Break a Flush only to draw to a Royal Flush.
- Don't hold a Ten as a high card.
- If you're dealt a Pat hand, don't discard in hopes of making
a better hand.
- Don't draw Four cards if you could draw three to a possible
Royal.
- Don't draw to an inside Straight, but do draw to an open
ended Straight.
- Keep any pair dealt to you, even if it doesn't equal the
lowest paying hand. You could draw to a Three of a Kind.
- Don't gamble with the High Lo Card showdown when you have a
winning hand. The odds are not with you.
- Before you enter the casino, decide on an amount of money
that you're willing to lose. When that is gone, quit. Don't over
extend your budget.
- Always play at reputable casinos that come highly
recommended by sources you trust, such as the online casinos listed
on this website.
